Pattern of Dog Bite Cases

Authorities note that children and elderly individuals are most vulnerable to such attacks, with a spike in incidents occurring between April and June. A veterinary doctor explained that during the summer months, stray dogs tend to be more aggressive, leading to unprovoked bites on passersby, including children. Residents are advised to avoid groups of street dogs, especially in warmer seasons.

Stray Dog Population in Vizag

Visakhapatnam is home to over one lakh stray dogs. However, civic body officials claim that birth control surgeries have been performed on more than 90 percent of these animals. They further stated that no deaths due to dog attacks have been reported in the city in recent years, despite the high number of strays.
