Max Healthcare Institute Ltd has announced plans to establish a 712-bed super-speciality hospital in Lucknow with an investment of Rs 1,400 crore. The company's board approved the proposal, marking one of the largest private healthcare investments in the city in recent years.
New Facility on Shaheed Path
The upcoming hospital will be located on a five-acre site along Shaheed Path, becoming the company's second facility in Lucknow. Max currently operates a 400-plus-bed hospital in Gomti Nagar, which was developed after acquiring Sahara Hospital, offering treatment across 39 specialities.
Expansion to Meet Rising Demand
According to an official statement, the new hospital is expected to begin operations by 2030. It will provide advanced care in cardiology, oncology, neurosciences, organ transplants, critical care, and other super-speciality services. The expansion aims to address the growing need for tertiary healthcare in Uttar Pradesh, where the availability of large multi-speciality hospitals remains lower than in major metropolitan areas.
Healthcare industry experts note that Lucknow is steadily emerging as a major medical hub in North India, attracting patients not only from across Uttar Pradesh but also from neighbouring states such as Bihar, Uttarakhand, and Madhya Pradesh. The new project is expected to strengthen Max Healthcare's position among leading private healthcare providers while widening access to advanced care in the region.
This investment underscores Max Healthcare's commitment to expanding its footprint in Uttar Pradesh and enhancing healthcare infrastructure in the state.
