A 28-year-old employee of the Military Engineering Services (MES) reportedly died by suicide at his residence in Nehrugarh village of Rewari district on Wednesday morning. The deceased, identified as Yogesh, was posted in Barmer, Rajasthan, and had returned home on leave approximately 25 days ago. He is survived by his pregnant wife, one-year-old son, father, grandparents, and younger brother.
Incident Details
According to police and family members, Yogesh was sleeping in a separate room on Tuesday night. When he did not come out for an extended period on Wednesday morning, family members broke open the door and discovered him hanging from a ceiling fan. The police were informed and arrived at the scene, subsequently sending the body for a post-mortem examination before handing it over to the family.
Police Investigation
Naahar police outpost in-charge Arvind Yadav stated that proceedings under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code were initiated based on the statement of the deceased's brother. No suicide note was recovered during the initial investigation. The family has indicated that Yogesh had been under mental stress for some time. The exact cause of the suicide is currently under investigation.
