Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Saturday inaugurated a new radiation oncology centre at Narayana Hospital in Ahmedabad. The centre is equipped with the Halcyon radiation therapy system, a treatment technology known for its speed and accuracy, according to an official statement.
“This technology will deliver high-precision, image-guided treatment while minimising side effects on healthy tissues around cancerous tumours,” the statement said. The Halcyon system is designed to provide faster and more precise radiation therapy, reducing the duration of each session and improving patient comfort.
With the addition of this centre, Narayana Hospital now offers all three key oncology services — medical oncology, surgical oncology, and radiation oncology — enabling integrated cancer care treatment under one roof. This comprehensive approach ensures that patients receive coordinated care from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up.
The inauguration marks a significant step in enhancing cancer care infrastructure in Gujarat. The hospital aims to leverage advanced technology to improve outcomes for cancer patients, particularly those requiring radiation therapy.
