Three Newborn Puppies Burnt Alive in Badaun Garbage Fire

Shamli: Three newborn puppies were burnt alive after an unidentified person allegedly set a garbage dump on fire in Ujhani town of Badaun district on the night of April 29, police said on Monday.

Incident Details

The incident took place in Punjabi colony, where six newborn puppies were asleep on a garbage heap in an open area. Three of them died on the spot due to the flames, while the other three suffered severe burn injuries.

Local residents said the six puppies had been seen asleep at the same spot since April 28.

Animal Activists File Complaint

Animal activists Manish Sharma, a resident of Shrinarayan Ganj, and Yogesh Pratap Singh of Sahukara Ujhani lodged a complaint at Ujhani Kotwali police station.

Police registered a case against an unidentified person under BNS section 325 (mischief by killing or maiming animal) on Saturday.

Investigation Underway

SHO Praveen Kumar Singh said that investigation has begun and CCTV footage from the surrounding areas is being examined. No suspect has been identified so far, the SHO added.
