The Gurgaon district administration has announced comprehensive security and administrative measures for the NEET-UG 2026 examination, which is scheduled to be conducted on May 3. In a bid to ensure a fair and peaceful testing environment, Deputy Commissioner Uttam Singh confirmed the enforcement of Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) across the district. This legal provision regulates movement around examination centres and prohibits any activities that could disrupt the exam.
Examination Centres and Candidate Numbers
A total of 18 examination centres have been designated in the district to accommodate the 6,875 candidates who will appear for the test. These centres are spread across Gurgaon, and the administration has taken steps to secure the premises and surrounding areas.
Restrictions Imposed Under Section 163 BNSS
Under the provisions of Section 163 BNSS, strict restrictions have been placed on activities within a 200-metre radius of all examination centres. The following are prohibited:
- Assembly of people in groups
- Carrying of weapons of any kind
- Parking of vehicles
- Use of loudspeakers or any sound-amplifying devices
- Operation of Wi-Fi or any electronic devices in the restricted zone
Additionally, photocopy shops and coaching centres located within a 500-metre radius of the examination centres have been directed to remain closed on the day of the examination.
Items Banned Inside Examination Premises
The administration has imposed a complete ban on carrying electronic gadgets and other prohibited items inside the examination halls. The list of banned items includes:
- Mobile phones
- Bluetooth devices
- Earphones and headphones
- Smartwatches and fitness bands
- Pen scanners and any other scanning devices
- All other electronic gadgets
Candidates are also not permitted to carry bags, purses, belts, jewellery, cameras, calculators, pen drives, or any written material such as notes or books. Only the following items will be allowed inside the examination centre:
- Admit card
- One passport-size photograph
- Valid identity proof (such as Aadhaar card, voter ID, or passport)
- A transparent water bottle
Anti-Malpractice Measures
To prevent any form of malpractice, all examination centres will be equipped with advanced surveillance and security systems. These include:
- CCTV cameras for continuous monitoring
- Biometric verification systems to confirm candidate identity
- Mobile jammers to block cellular signals
Furthermore, the police have completed verification of all examination staff and personnel deployed by agencies involved in the conduct of the exam.
Entry Timings and Guidelines for Candidates
Entry to examination centres will begin at 11:00 AM, and the gates will be closed at 1:30 PM. No candidate will be allowed entry after the stipulated time under any circumstances. The administration has advised all candidates to arrive early and strictly adhere to the prescribed guidelines to avoid any inconvenience on the day of the examination.
