Stray Dog Attack in Kochi Leaves Pick-Up Van Driver with Serious Injuries
A 40-year-old man sustained severe injuries after being viciously attacked by a stray dog in the Eroor area of Kochi on Monday night. The victim, identified as Paulose Varghese, a native of Adimali who works as a pick-up van driver, was walking near a godown owned by a decoration contractor when the incident occurred.
Details of the Attack
According to reports, Paulose Varghese had just completed a trip and was walking towards Eroor junction when a stray dog suddenly launched an unprovoked assault. The attack resulted in serious injuries to his face, arms, and multiple parts of his body, leaving him in critical condition.
Emergency Medical Response
Following the attack, Paulose was immediately rushed to a hospital in Tripunithura for initial treatment. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was subsequently referred to Kottayam Medical College for advanced medical care and further evaluation.
The incident has raised concerns about public safety and the growing issue of stray dog populations in urban areas. Local authorities are investigating the matter, and residents have called for increased measures to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
