ZP CEO Chooses Govt Hospital for Wife's Delivery in Raichur

In a significant move to promote public healthcare, Zilla Panchayat CEO Ishwar Kumar Kandoo chose a government hospital for his wife's delivery in Raichur district. The delivery was conducted at the Raichur Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) on Thursday. Following the birth, the mother and newborn were shifted to the Mother and Child Hospital for postnatal care. The couple has been blessed with a baby boy, and both are reported to be in good health.

Decision to Encourage Public Trust

Kandoo stated that the decision was made to encourage people to utilize the facilities available in government hospitals. He highlighted that well-equipped labour rooms, dedicated wards, and the presence of skilled doctors and attentive staff make public institutions a reliable choice for maternal care. "The government has ensured comprehensive facilities for maternal and child care across hospitals, including in rural areas. Opting for RIMS for the delivery was a matter of personal pride," he said.

Strengthened Infrastructure at RIMS

The decision assumes significance as government hospitals, particularly RIMS, have been strengthened with modern infrastructure and specialized maternal care services. Facilities such as continuous monitoring, trained personnel, and improved clinical support have enabled effective handling of even complicated deliveries.

Setting an Example

By choosing a public hospital despite holding a senior administrative position, the CEO sought to set an example and encourage greater public trust in government healthcare institutions, especially in rural and semi-urban regions. This move is expected to inspire others to consider public hospitals for their healthcare needs, thereby boosting the utilization of government health services.
