In a remarkable demonstration of human potential, students from the Calcutta Blind School in Behala have successfully harnessed their intuitive abilities to perform tasks like reading, identifying colors, and navigating their surroundings. This breakthrough was achieved through a dedicated workshop conducted by The Art of Living foundation.
A Four-Day Program That Unlocked New Skills
The transformative initiative was a four-day intuition development program, which was followed by a crucial six-day period of daily practice. The participants, whose ages ranged from 8 to 20 years, engaged in structured activities designed to tap into their gut feeling. Each day, they spent 2.5 hours in guided, in-person sessions and committed to an additional 40 minutes of practice at home.
The curriculum was comprehensive, teaching the young participants techniques to access, cultivate, use, and maintain their inherent intuition. A key faculty member from The Art of Living, Sangeeta Palliwal, emphasized the impact of the training. She stated that regular practice unlocks significantly more powerful abilities in the students, positively affecting all areas of their lives. The most striking outcome, she noted, is that blind students can now identify colors and read without relying on braille.
Exercises, Meditation, and Technological Support
The program employed a multi-faceted approach to intuition development. Students practised brain activation exercises that were specifically tailored to their age groups. Meditation and relaxation techniques were introduced as essential tools for honing their intuitive senses. To ensure continuity, all participants received clear instructions for home practice and were provided with a dedicated mobile application to support their daily exercises.
The progress was visibly demonstrated through a series of blindfold exercises. Students confidently took part in activities involving reading, coloring, walking, and playing games, showcasing their newly refined skills. Remarkably, students with low or no vision were able to correctly identify colors. Both participants and their parents reported a heightened awareness of their environment, which made moving around independently much easier.
Life-Changing Outcomes for Confidence and Academics
The benefits of the workshop extended far beyond the training room. Students reported being in a dynamic yet relaxed state of mind, which helped them receive the right thought at the right time. This mental clarity aids them in coping with diverse life situations.
The positive outcomes were both academic and personal. Participants noted a significant boost in their self-confidence, development of a photographic memory, a renewed interest in their studies, and greater ease in answering examination questions. One of the most powerful testimonials came from a participant who shared that he is no longer afraid to step out alone. This newfound independence marks a profound shift in their quality of life, empowering them to engage with the world more freely.
