Delhi Man Conquers Asthma with Yoga & Patanjali Wellness: A 44-Year-Old's Journey
Delhi man beats asthma with yoga and traditional therapy

For Kamal Kumar Singhal, a 44-year-old resident of Uttamnagar in Delhi, every breath was a struggle after being diagnosed with asthma in 2018. Despite following conventional medical advice and using prescribed inhalers, he found only marginal relief, living with constant restrictions and the fear of triggers.

The Pandemic Pivot to Holistic Healing

The arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 heightened his anxieties, as respiratory conditions posed a significant risk. This period of heightened concern became a turning point. Seeking a more fundamental solution, Kamal turned to yoga, practicing it diligently. This initial step marked the beginning of a remarkable health transformation.

A Structured Wellness Intervention at Patanjali

To build upon his progress, Kamal enrolled in a structured program at Patanjali Wellness. He was admitted from 9 April 2024 to 18 April 2024 for a personalized regimen focused on boosting lung capacity, strengthening immunity, and enhancing overall vitality through traditional methods.

His therapy was multifaceted, incorporating hot and cold compresses, applications of turmeric paste, and unique exercises like reversal walking—all aimed at improving circulation and respiratory function.

Breathing New Life with Pranayama

A core component of his recovery was the disciplined practice of pranayama or breath control techniques. Under expert guidance, he regularly performed Anulom Vilom, Kapalbhati, Bhramari, and other Pranayama exercises. These practices were crucial for increasing breathing efficiency, calming the nervous system, and establishing respiratory balance.

Building Strength and Flexibility with Yoga

His daily routine included an extensive and structured yoga sequence designed to build physical resilience. The regimen featured asanas such as:

  • Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose) and Shalabhasana (Locust Pose) for back strength.
  • Paschimottanasana (Seated Forward Bend) and Ardha Matsyendrasana (Half Lord of the Fishes Pose) for flexibility.
  • Dhanurasana (Bow Pose), Naukasana (Boat Pose), and Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) for core endurance and overall stamina.

This comprehensive practice, which also included Yogic Jogging and other asanas, was instrumental in strengthening his muscles, expanding his lung capacity, and boosting his physical endurance.

A Life Transformed: Freedom from Asthma Attacks

The results speak for themselves. Since embracing this holistic path and completing the Patanjali Wellness program, Kamal Kumar Singhal reports being completely free from asthma attacks. He describes feeling stronger, healthier, and more energetic than before.

His journey from managing a chronic condition with fear to living a vibrant, attack-free life stands as a powerful testament. It highlights the potential effectiveness of integrating traditional therapies, dedicated pranayama, and a consistent yoga practice for managing asthma and achieving sustainable, long-term wellness.
