On Wednesday, Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius, which was 0.1 degrees above normal, while the minimum settled at 28 degrees Celsius, which is 2.5 degrees above normal. These readings highlight the persistent heat conditions in the region.
Weather Alerts for Western and Eastern Uttar Pradesh
Parts of western Uttar Pradesh are expected to experience thunderstorms, dust storms, or thundersqualls with wind speeds reaching 60 to 70 kmph. Hailstorms may occur at isolated places. In eastern Uttar Pradesh, isolated areas may witness thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds measuring 50 to 60 kmph.

Meanwhile, the hottest place in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday was Banda, with a maximum temperature of 47.8 degrees Celsius, followed by Prayagraj at 46.4, Jhansi at 46, and Orai at 45.6 degrees Celsius.
Expert’s Perspective on Relief and Discomfort
Mohammad Danish, a senior scientist at IMD Lucknow, stated, “Thunderstorms and light to moderate rain across the state may provide some relief from the scorching heat, but it will increase humidity levels, leading to high discomfort levels. Severe hot conditions will return after a couple of days.”
This weather pattern is expected to bring temporary respite, but residents should prepare for a rise in humidity and the return of intense heat soon after.
