CARD's ViveQ Podcast Initiative Aims to Make Mental Health Guidance Accessible Across India
In a significant move to combat misinformation and stigma, the Centre for Action Research and Development (CARD) has unveiled ViveQ, a pioneering digital-first podcast platform designed to provide credible mental health guidance. This innovative initiative connects listeners directly with qualified psychologists and psychiatrists through structured, expert-led conversations, making professional insights as accessible as popular entertainment content.
Bridging the Gap Between Expertise and Accessibility
ViveQ represents a strategic effort to create a responsible digital ecosystem where mental health discussions are grounded in scientific evidence rather than social media noise. The platform offers content in English, Hindi, and Punjabi, with plans to expand into additional regional languages as it scales operations. By leveraging both podcast formats and social media outreach, CARD aims to engage up to 10,000 individuals across diverse age groups within the first year of operation.
Comprehensive Coverage of Mental Health Topics
The platform addresses a wide spectrum of psychological conditions and developmental topics, including:
- Clinical Diagnoses: ADHD, Alzheimer's disease, anxiety disorders, depression, dyslexia, PTSD, OCD, and autism spectrum disorders
- Holistic Well-being: Emotional intelligence development, cognitive fitness enhancement, and practical stress management techniques
- Preventive Approaches: Strategies for maintaining mental wellness before clinical intervention becomes necessary
This comprehensive approach reinforces the importance of both treatment and prevention in mental health care, moving beyond traditional clinical frameworks to address everyday psychological challenges.
Expert Perspectives on the Initiative's Significance
Dr. N.S. Kalsi, former additional chief secretary of Punjab and ex-chairperson of the National Council for Vocational Education and Training, emphasized the platform's potential impact: "Such initiatives are significant as they create a credible platform for meaningful dialogue, expert insights, and shared experiences that can guide individuals toward more balanced and purposeful lives."
Mamta Yadav, member of the Haryana Public Service Commission, highlighted the contemporary relevance: "Today, people, especially young individuals, are facing tremendous pressure in both personal and professional spheres. In such times, it is crucial to have platforms where they can openly learn, reflect, and find appropriate guidance."
Strategic Collaborations and Future Vision
ViveQ has already established partnerships with over 25 academic institutions across India, along with collaborations with the Laadli Foundation and DBG Technologies to strengthen digital engagement and outreach capabilities. The initiative also aims to contribute to academic discourse through planned research publications in psychology and cognitive development.
Dr. Abhishek Garg, Member of CARD, explained the philosophical foundation: "There is a growing need to separate credible psychological knowledge from the misinformation that often circulates online. With ViveQ, we are building a responsible digital space where mental health professionals can directly engage with people through authentic conversations."
The name ViveQ draws inspiration from quantum concepts, symbolizing the evolving potential of the human mind. Through curated dialogues, specialist insights, and future research initiatives, the platform seeks to normalize mental health conversations while providing evidence-based information that empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their emotional and cognitive well-being.
