Karnataka expects over 10 lakh for Yoga Day

Karnataka is preparing to celebrate International Yoga Day on June 21 with massive participation. The state government expects over 10 lakh people to take part in yoga sessions across all districts. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will lead the main event in Bengaluru at the Palace Grounds. Similar events will be organized in all 31 district headquarters. The government has directed all departments to ensure wide participation. Schools, colleges, and government offices will hold yoga sessions. The event aims to promote physical and mental well-being. Yoga instructors have been trained to guide participants. The state health department is coordinating the arrangements. Free yoga mats and water will be provided to participants. The government has also arranged for live telecast of the main event. This year's theme is 'Yoga for Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' or 'Yoga for the Welfare of All'. The event underscores the importance of yoga in daily life. Karnataka has been actively promoting yoga through various initiatives. The state has a dedicated yoga board to propagate the practice. International Yoga Day was first observed in 2015 following a UN declaration. India has been at the forefront of promoting yoga globally. The Karnataka government is leaving no stone unturned to make this year's celebration a grand success.
