Karnataka Micro-Artist Achieves Feat by Writing Sri Rama Raksha Stotra on 476 Rice Grains
In a stunning display of patience and precision, Paramesh Sankrappa Bandi, a spice trader from the temple town of Kukke in Karnataka, has inscribed the entire Sri Rama Raksha Stotra on 476 grains of rice. Known popularly as 'Micro Art Paramesh,' he accomplished this remarkable task in 10 hours of continuous work, all without the aid of spectacles or magnifying tools.
Exceptional Skill and Speed in Micro-Art
Paramesh's micro-artistic abilities are nothing short of extraordinary. He can complete an average of 20 to 30 characters on a single grain of rice in just two minutes. This feat involves writing all 38 shlokas of the Rama Raksha Stotra, a hymn of praise dedicated to the Hindu deity Rama, with meticulous accuracy.
Speaking about the challenges, Paramesh emphasized that inscribing characters on rice grains is extremely difficult and requires expertise, patience, and good eyesight. "Many artists use magnifying glasses or wear spectacles while creating such art, but I have done this with my naked eyes," he said. "Though it's a tough task that demands exceptional skill, I take a maximum of two minutes to write on one rice grain."
Award-Winning Achievements and Previous Works
Paramesh is no stranger to accolades, having been recognized by the Asia Book of Records, India Book of Records, and Rajyotsava awards. His previous works include inscribing Nadageethe, the national anthem, and Vande Mataram on rice grains. For writing Nadageethe on 136 rice grains in 120 minutes, he was honored with the District Rajyotsava Award 2025 by the Haveri district administration.
He has also penned 'Jana Gana Mana' in Kannada, Hindi, and English on rice grains, showcasing his versatility in micro-art. In these projects, he wrote an average of two to six characters on each grain, further highlighting his precision and dedication.
Aspiring for Guinness World Records
Looking ahead, Paramesh has set his sights on the Guinness World Records. "I am preparing to present my micro-art skills in rice grain inscription before the adjudicators of Guinness World Records, if approved," he stated, recalling his past achievements and expressing confidence in his abilities.
This achievement not only underscores Paramesh's artistic talent but also serves as an inspiration for those pursuing niche art forms. His work blends cultural reverence with technical prowess, making him a standout figure in the world of micro-art.
