"I receive up to Rs 1,000 and numerous gifts, which my parents otherwise cannot afford," shared 8-year-old Rohini, daughter of a rickshaw puller, highlighting the joy and significance of this practice for many families.
Across Ludhiana, households prepared traditional offerings to honor the goddess. Dishes like puri, halwa, and chana were cooked in almost every home, symbolizing devotion and gratitude. Goddess Durga was believed to reside in homes through symbols like khetri and Akhand jyoti, creating a sacred atmosphere.
