BHU Launches National Conclave to Revive Odia Language and Culture
The Kabi Samrat Upendra Ithanja Odia Chair at Banaras Hindu University's faculty of Arts is taking a significant step. It is organizing a two-day National Conclave titled "Rediscovering Odia Language, Literature, and the Making of a Cultural Identity." This event will occur on January 17 and 18 at the Mahamana Auditorium within the Malaviya Moulya Anusheelan Kendra in Varanasi.
Bringing Together Experts for Deep Discussions
A spokesperson from BHU confirmed the details. The conclave aims to gather prominent scholars, writers, and academics. They will engage in thorough deliberations on several key topics. These include the historical evolution of the Odia language, its rich literary traditions, and its contemporary relevance. Inaugural Session with Distinguished Personalities
The inaugural session promises to be a highlight. BHU vice-chancellor Prof Ajit Kumar Chaturvedi will attend the event. Prof Kailash Pattanaik, former dean of the School of Languages at Visva-Bharati in Santiniketan, will also join. Sushma Ghildyal, dean of the faculty of Arts at BHU, will preside over this opening session.
Keynote and Technical Sessions Featuring Renowned Figures
The conclave features a packed schedule with insightful presentations. Prof Jatindra Kumar Nayak will deliver the keynote address. He will focus on critical discourse in Odia. Plenary and technical sessions will include contributions from several experts.
