Bodh Gaya in Full Preparation Mode for 2570th Buddha Purnima

The sacred town of Bodh Gaya is abuzz with activity as final preparations are underway for the grand observance of the 2570th Buddha Purnima, scheduled for May 1. This significant Buddhist festival commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and Mahaparinirvana of Prince Siddhartha, who became known as the Buddha after attaining enlightenment under the Bodhi tree at the Mahabodhi Mahavihara.

Elaborate Decorations and Spiritual Ambiance

According to Mahashweta Maharathi, member secretary of the Bodhgaya Temple Management Committee (BTMC), the UNESCO World Heritage site of Mahabodhi Mahavihara is being adorned with vibrant Panchsheel flags, particularly around the revered Bodhi tree. Cleanliness and beautification drives are in full swing to create a spiritual and festive atmosphere throughout the premises.

"The entire area is being transformed to welcome devotees in a serene environment," Maharathi stated, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the sanctity of the location.
