With thousands of devotees expected to throng various ghats across the capital, authorities have implemented significant road diversions and special arrangements.
Key Traffic Restrictions and Road Diversions
Several major areas will witness traffic modifications starting from the evening of October 27th through October 29th, 2025. The most affected locations include:
- Kalinindi Kunj Ghat: Complete traffic restrictions on the DND Flyway with diversions via Ashram Chowk and Sarita Vihar
- ITO Barrage Ghat: Road closures on Tilak Marg and Bhagwan Das Road with alternative routes via Mathura Road
- Wazirabad Ghat: Traffic diversions on Wazirabad Road and Outer Ring Road connecting to GT Karnal Road
Delhi Metro to the Rescue
In a relief for commuters, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced special services for Chhath Puja celebrations. Metro trains will run with extended timings on key routes serving the major ghat locations. Additional services will be available on:
- Blue Line (Noida Electronic City to Vaishali)
- Violet Line (Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh)
- Pink Line (Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar)
Parking Restrictions and Advisory
The Delhi Police has strictly prohibited parking of vehicles near all Chhath Puja ghats and surrounding areas. Designated parking lots have been established at:
- NSCI Parking near DND Flyway
- Shivaji Stadium for ITO area
- Major district parkings near Wazirabad
Important Note: Commuters are advised to avoid the affected routes during peak celebration hours and use public transportation, especially the Delhi Metro, for convenient travel.
