On Tuesday, the city of Sambalpur was transformed into a vibrant hub of devotion as thousands of enthusiastic participants joined the Hanuman Jayanti celebrations. The event, meticulously organized by the Hanuman Samanwaya Samiti, featured a large-scale procession that wound its way through the city's key arterial routes, showcasing a profound display of faith and community spirit.

Procession Route and Commencement

The day's festivities began with traditional rituals and a sacred aarti at the historic Hanuman temple located at Brooks Hill. Following these initial ceremonies, devotees from diverse neighborhoods across Sambalpur converged to form the main procession. This grand march officially started from the district school, serving as the epicenter of the celebrations.

The procession meandered through various significant parts of the city, with participants energetically carrying religious flags and chanting devotional slogans in unison. Organizers highlighted that the event successfully attracted people from all age groups and various communities, emphasizing its inclusive nature and widespread appeal.

Elaborate Security Measures Ensured Peaceful Event

To guarantee the peaceful conduct of the massive gathering, local authorities implemented extensive security arrangements. Police officials deployed an impressive force, including more than 52 platoons of police personnel. This was supplemented by units from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the Border Security Force (BSF), and over 200 home guards, strategically positioned at sensitive locations throughout the city.

Advanced surveillance technology played a crucial role in monitoring the event. The city was placed under tight watch using drones and a network of over 160 CCTV cameras, ensuring comprehensive coverage and quick response capabilities. Sambalpur Superintendent of Police Mukesh Bhamoo confirmed that the celebrations proceeded smoothly, with no untoward incidents reported despite the enormous crowd.

High-Profile Attendance and Spiritual Ceremonies

The highlight of the evening was a magnificent Maha Aarti organized at the district school square. This spiritually charged ceremony was graced by the presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, adding a significant political and communal dimension to the religious event. Sambalpur MLA and president of the Hanuman Samanwaya Samiti, Jayanarayan Mishra, also attended, underscoring the local leadership's involvement.

The rituals were conducted with great reverence by a team of more than 10 priests, who led the devotees in prayers and hymns. According to SP Mukesh Bhamoo, the total participation exceeded one lakh devotees, marking one of the largest gatherings for Hanuman Jayanti in the region's recent history.
