Happy Streets Brings Lucknow Together in Joyful Celebration

Lucknow: Sunday morning in the city transformed into a vibrant celebration as Happy Streets at Sukoon by Pardos Okas turned into a lively community space, where roads were reclaimed by people, not traffic. Residents across age groups stepped out, filling the stretch with movement, laughter and a shared sense of belonging.

“I came expecting just a short walk, but the energy here kept pulling me in. Between the music, games and cheerful crowd, I found myself staying much longer, feeling lighter and more relaxed than I have in days,” said Ritvika Sahay, a bank employee.

A Morning of Wellness and Fun

The day began on a calm note with a yoga session led by Mahima, Virendra and Shekhar, participants easing into the morning with mindful breathing and gentle stretches. Soon, the tempo shifted as a lively Zumba session led by Arpita Bhutani and Anand took over, with people dancing to upbeat Bollywood tracks like ‘Magic in the Air’ and ‘Morni Banke,’ their hesitation dissolving into rhythm and joy.

Chief guest, MLA from Lucknow North constituency, Neeraj Bora, said, “Such initiatives bring communities together in a unique way. It is encouraging to see people stepping out, engaging in healthy activities and celebrating public spaces with such enthusiasm.”

Voices from the Event

Digital creator Rhea Malhotra said that she began her morning with a calming yoga session, which helped her feel grounded, before joining the high-energy Zumba that uplifted her mood, highlighting how the event beautifully transitioned from serenity to celebration and made the overall experience memorable.

Activities for All Ages

Children moved from activity to activity, trying games like balloon shooting, archery and hoopla, while others explored face painting and pottery, discovering creativity in small moments. Traditional games like carrom and turnball brought nostalgia for adults.

“I came with my family for a walk, but ended up playing games, doing yoga and even dancing. It felt like the whole city was breathing together,” said corporate employee Rishi Misra.

Sports activities like badminton, football and cricket added to the buzz, while fitness challenges turned into collective motivation. The morning unfolded as a reminder of how shared spaces can bring people closer, turning an ordinary day into a celebration of community and joy.
