Chief Minister Champions Koraput's Tourism and Economic Prowess
Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, CM Majhi passionately elaborated on Koraput's exceptional appeal to tourists from around the world. He emphasized that the district's diverse attractions form a perfect recipe for a major tourism hub. From the majestic Deomali, Odisha's highest peak, to the thunderous Duduma waterfall, the sacred Gupteswar cave, and ancient Jain temples, Koraput's portfolio is rich and varied.
Majhi did not stop at tourism. He highlighted Koraput's significant contribution to the state's economy and identity through its distinctive agricultural and mineral wealth. The district has set a benchmark with its specialty produce, including the globally recognized Koraput Coffee, nutritious millets, black turmeric, and Kala Jeera rice. Furthermore, he pointed out that the bauxite reserves found here rank among the finest globally, underscoring the region's abundant natural resources.
Parab: A National Festival and Commitments to Development
The Chief Minister elevated the stature of the Parab festival, describing it as more than a local event. "Parab is not only a festival of Koraput district, it is a national-level tribal festival," Majhi stated. He noted its power to unite people from diverse backgrounds and strengthen the collective cultural fabric of the nation.
Reaffirming his government's dedication to inclusive growth, Majhi shared that over Rs 68,000 crore has been earmarked for the welfare of Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Scheduled Caste (SC) communities in the state budget. He stressed the administration's focus on ensuring balanced development across all districts of Odisha.
Millet Boom and Major Project Inaugurations

He revealed that the area under millet cultivation in Koraput has dramatically expanded from 30,000 hectares to 72,000 hectares, a fact he cited with pride. "Millet is now known worldwide as a superfood, and Koraput millet has given Odisha global recognition," Majhi added.
Translating words into action, the Chief Minister used the occasion to launch significant development initiatives. He inaugurated 16 completed projects valued at over Rs 23 crore and laid the foundation stone for 70 new projects worth a substantial Rs 521 crore.
