Lucknow & Varanasi Photographers Present Historic India in UP Exhibition
A captivating three-day photography exhibition showcasing the rich cultural and architectural heritage of India has commenced at the UP State Lalit Kala Akademi in Lucknow. The event, which opened on Wednesday, features the artistic works of two distinguished photographers: city-based Anil Risal Singh from Lucknow and lensman-painter Anil Sharma from Varanasi.
Exhibition Details and Inauguration
Organized by the UP culture department, the exhibition was inaugurated by chief guest Anupam, the UP regional organisation minister of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh. The ceremony was held in the presence of Akademi chairperson Sunil Kumar Vishwakarma. The exhibition will remain open to visitors daily from 11 am to 6 pm until March 27, offering ample opportunity for art enthusiasts to explore the displays.
Anil Risal Singh's Photographic Collection
Lucknow-based photographer Anil Risal Singh contributes over 100 photographs to the exhibition, including a notable selection in black-and-white. His portfolio captures a diverse range of subjects, from historic buildings and serene ghats to picturesque landscapes of hill stations. Sunil Kumar Vishwakarma praised Singh's unique ability to find the unusual in ordinary scenes and present everyday subjects in a strikingly artistic manner.
Anil Sharma's Artistic Repertoire
Anil Sharma from Varanasi enriches the exhibition with nearly 80 photographs alongside watercolour paintings. His works focus on important cities, cultures, and natural places across the country, offering a vibrant and detailed portrayal of India's diverse heritage. Sharma's dual expertise in photography and painting provides a multifaceted perspective on the themes of nature and urban life.
