Maratha Community Organizes Upanayana Samskara and Matrimonial Registration in Hubballi
The Maratha Shri Bharathi Math Trust, in partnership with the Kshatriya Marata Samaj (96/Shahannav Kule) Charitable Trust, successfully organized a significant community event in Hubballi on Sunday. The programme, held at the Maratha Shri Bharathi Math Bhavani, featured an Upanayana Samskara for Maratha children, registration of brides and grooms on a dedicated Maratha matrimonial website, and a conference aimed at fostering social cohesion.
Union Minister Pralhad Joshi Inaugurates the Event
Inaugurating the programme, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi praised the initiative as commendable, emphasizing that the Upanayana ceremony imparts valuable lessons for leading a purposeful future life. He highlighted that conducting such ceremonies or weddings collectively helps build solidarity within society, strengthening community bonds and promoting unity among members.
Joshi also spoke about the deep-rooted connection between the Maratha community and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He stated that this bond is based on ideals of equality without discrimination, as exemplified by the legendary Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. "BJP upholds Hindutva, and the Maratha society has always stood by me — I remain eternally grateful," Joshi remarked, underscoring the mutual respect and support between the party and the community.
Key Highlights and Attendees
The event saw the presence of Shri Manjunath Bharati Swami, the head of Shri Gosai Mahasansthan Math from Gavipuram, who graced the occasion with his blessings. A total of 31 children underwent the sacred Upanayana ceremony, marking an important rite of passage in their lives. Additionally, registration was completed for approximately 200 grooms and 130 brides on the Maratha matrimonial website, facilitating connections within the community.
Prominent attendees included Bhimarao Pawar, president of the Kshatriya Marata Samaj (Shahannav Kule) Charitable Trust, and Sunil Dalavi, president of the Maratha Shri Bharathi Math Trust, along with other community leaders and members. The conference segment of the event provided a platform for discussions on social issues, cultural preservation, and community development, further enhancing the programme's impact.
