A grand celebration of art, culture, and tradition unfolded as the two-day Mithila Mahotsav began in Madhubani on Friday. This significant event is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Mithila region, starting on a spectacular note that captivated attendees.
Inaugural Ceremony Sets Festive Tone
District Magistrate Anand Sharma and Superintendent of Police Yogendra Kumar formally inaugurated the festival by cutting a ceremonial cake and releasing balloons into the sky, symbolising joy and prosperity for the community. Following this, they inspected various stalls that displayed Mithila's renowned traditional arts, including the world-famous Madhubani paintings, intricate handicrafts, and local products that highlight the region's deep artistic legacy. The officials actively interacted with artists, offering encouragement and appreciation for their dedicated efforts to keep these age-old traditions alive and thriving.
