With thousands of devotees expected to participate in the ancient sun worship ritual, authorities have designated 118 ghats along the Ganges River for the four-day festival.
Comprehensive Traffic Management Plan
District Magistrate Shirsat Kapil Ashok has announced significant traffic restrictions that will be implemented from November 1st to 4th, 2025. The advisory outlines specific no-vehicle zones and alternative routes to manage the massive influx of devotees while maintaining essential services.
Key traffic restrictions include:
- Complete vehicle ban on Ashok Rajpath from NIT Mor to Gandhi Maidan
- Restricted access on routes connecting major ghats and celebration areas
- Special arrangements for emergency vehicles and public transport
- Designated parking zones for private vehicles

The administration has prioritized devotee safety with multiple measures including temporary lighting, watchtowers, and increased security personnel at all 118 ghats.
