Prayagraj Navratri Attracts Devotees with Enhanced Temple Arrangements
As Chaitra Navratri commences, a significant surge of devotees is converging on Shakti Peeths and temples across Prayagraj, as well as in the neighboring districts of Kaushambi and Pratapgarh. Local authorities have responded with innovative strategies for crowd and traffic control, ensuring a seamless and secure experience for all visitors.
Comprehensive Security and Surveillance Measures
Police personnel are maintaining a constant 24/7 watch over all arrangements, with security being a top priority. The entire area, from the sanctum sanctorum to the approach roads outside temples, is under extensive CCTV surveillance. On key days, drone-based monitoring will be deployed to oversee crowd movements and enhance safety protocols.
Sanitation and Comfort Initiatives
The Prayagraj Municipal Corporation has implemented special measures to uphold cleanliness and comfort at Shakti Peeths and temples throughout Navratri. Sanitation teams are stationed at these sites around the clock, and devotees are guided to enter in orderly queues. Fans have been installed to provide relief from the heat, ensuring a pleasant environment for worship.
Shivanand, the chief priest of the Maa Alop Shankari Shakti Peeth, highlighted the organization of queues within covered sheds. Additionally, RO water purification units have been set up within the premises to supply clean drinking water, addressing basic needs of the visitors.
Development Projects Enhancing Temple Infrastructure
In the Prayagraj division, collaborative efforts between the Department of Tourism and the Department of Religious Affairs have led to various development works at Shakti Peeths and other sacred sites. The state government has executed a wide array of projects focused on temple development, including:
- Enhancing amenities such as parking facilities, passenger shelters, and restrooms.
- Improving connectivity through better approach roads and signage.
- Implementing administrative reforms to streamline operations.
A major initiative is the phased construction of temple corridors and beautification in Prayagraj, aimed at transforming the religious landscape.
Financial Investments in Temple Upgrades
Significant financial allocations have been made for these enhancements. The tourism department has carried out development works worth Rs 6 crore at the city's Maa Alop Shankari Shakti Peeth and Rs 1 crore at Maa Kalyani Devi Shakti Peeth. These investments are part of broader efforts to modernize and beautify these historic sites.
Prayagraj divisional commissioner Saumya Agarwal emphasized that various measures have been undertaken to ensure the convenience of devotees. These include:
- Renovation and beautification of temples.
- Provision of essential facilities like drinking water and sanitation services.
- Installation of facade lighting to enhance aesthetic appeal.
Large-Scale Projects in Neighboring Districts
Development projects exceeding Rs 124 crore are underway at various Shakti Peeths, including the Belhadham Shakti Peeth in Pratapgarh and Maa Sheetla Dham Temple in Kaushambi. These projects involve constructing paved ghats, Aarti platforms, and approach roads, significantly boosting the infrastructure and accessibility of these religious destinations.
Overall, the combined efforts of local authorities and government departments are ensuring a safe, comfortable, and spiritually enriching Navratri experience for devotees in Prayagraj and its surrounding regions.
