Prayagraj Gears Up for Kashi-Tamil Sangamam: 7 Groups to Visit from Dec 4
Prayagraj Prepares for Kashi-Tamil Sangamam Delegates

The holy city of Prayagraj is abuzz with activity as final preparations are underway to host delegates for the upcoming Kashi-Tamil Sangamam event. This cultural and spiritual convergence will see seven distinct groups of visitors exploring the city's major landmarks and temples over a two-week period.

Elaborate Arrangements for a Historic Convergence

The district administration, led by District Magistrate Manish Kumar Verma, is leaving no stone unturned to ensure the event's success. Magistrates and various district-level officials have been assigned specific responsibilities to guarantee the programme is carried out safely and in an orderly fashion. A key focus is on the Sangam area, the sacred confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.

Detailed Itinerary and Spiritual Sojourn

The first group of the Sangam is scheduled to arrive in Prayagraj on December 4. They will be followed by six subsequent batches on December 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, and 16. Upon reaching the city, the delegates' spiritual journey will commence with a visit to the Sangam for a holy dip. Their pilgrimage will include offering prayers at several significant temples:

  • Lete Hanuman Temple
  • Sri Adi Shankara Viman Mandapam Temple
  • Swaminarayan Temple

This itinerary is designed to provide a deep dive into the spiritual heritage of Prayagraj.

Comprehensive Security and Logistical Support

To manage the influx of visitors, the administration has planned a multi-layered approach. A large contingent of police personnel, including women officers, will be deployed across key locations to maintain tight security. Understanding the linguistic needs of the delegates, the DM has instructed that volunteers fluent in Tamil be stationed to assist and facilitate their visit seamlessly.

Logistical arrangements are equally robust. The Municipal Corporation has been directed to ensure impeccable cleanliness in and around the Sangam area. The Chief Medical Officer has been tasked with arranging dedicated medical teams and ambulances on standby for any emergencies. Furthermore, to manage the riverfront activities, adequate numbers of boats will be deployed at the Sangam ghats.

The Kashi-Tamil Sangamam in Prayagraj represents a significant effort to strengthen the cultural and spiritual bonds between North and South India. With meticulous planning covering everything from security and sanitation to language support and spiritual access, the city is poised to offer a memorable and smooth experience for all the delegates participating in this unique confluence.
