Punjab Governor Gulabchand Kataria Inaugurates Ahimsa Bike Rally at Bhagavan Mahavir Festival
Punjab Governor Gulabchand Kataria inaugurated the Ahimsa Bike Rally organized as part of the Bhagavan Mahavir Janma Kalyanak Mahotsav in Belagavi on Sunday. The event marked a significant celebration of Jain principles and community service in the region.
Governor Praises Jain Community and Indian Cultural Values
Later, Governor Kataria participated in a program organized by the Jain community at Mahavir Bhavan. He praised the Jain community's extensive social service activities, emphasizing that Indian culture guides the world through principles of humanity and values. During his address, he highlighted the relevance of ancient teachings in addressing contemporary global issues.
Inaugurating the prize distribution ceremony at Mahavir Bhavan, Kataria felicitated Padma Shri awardee Prabhakar Kore, the honorary chairman of KLE. He stated that excessive human desire is a primary cause of current global challenges, and solutions can be found in the principles of Indian culture, which are rooted in knowledge and humanity.
Emphasis on Truth, Non-Violence, and Non-Attachment
Governor Kataria elaborated on the teachings of Bhagwan Mahavir, noting that adherence to truth, non-violence, and non-attachment could foster worldwide peace. He commended Prabhakar Kore for his achievements in education and health, describing them as a tribute to humanity. Kataria also remarked on the abundance of skills among Indian students, stressing the need to provide them with better pathways to utilize their talents.

Upon receiving the honor, Prabhakar Kore reflected on Bhagavan Mahavir's dedication to human welfare and world peace. He drew parallels to the 12th-century philosopher Basaveshwara, who advocated for equality in the Anubhava Mantapa, transcending caste, religion, and sectarian divisions. Kore urged everyone to follow the paths shown by such great figures to promote harmony and progress.
