Ranchi Muslims Celebrate Eid with Prayers and Feasts After Month of Ramzan
Following a month-long period of fasting and spiritual devotion during Ramzan, the Muslim community in Ranchi joyously celebrated Eid on Saturday. The day was marked by special prayers offered at numerous mosques and Idgahs across the city, as well as warm greetings and gatherings among residents.
Special Prayers and Messages of Peace
From the early hours of the morning, devotees gathered at over 60 mosques and Idgahs in Ranchi, with prayers taking place from 6:30 am to approximately 10 am. Edar-e-sharia Moulana Qutubuddin Rizvi highlighted that the religious messages delivered during the prayers not only focused on spiritual teachings but also emphasized the critical need for global peace.
Moulana Qutubuddin Rizvi stated, "Apart from religious messages, the need for ensuring peace in the world was also stressed upon. The devotees were encouraged to maintain the lifestyle practices of Ramzan, including purity of mind and body, hygiene, and other virtues, in their daily lives moving forward."
Traditional Feasts and Family Gatherings
After the prayers, the celebrations continued with visits to family and friends' homes, where traditional dishes were shared and enjoyed. The festive menu featured a variety of delicacies such as Laccha, Kimami, Sewaiyyan, Biryani, Pulao, and numerous non-vegetarian items. This communal feasting fostered a sense of unity and joy among the participants.
In addition to the culinary delights, many people visited graveyards to pay respects and remember their departed loved ones, adding a reflective element to the joyous occasion.
Personal Reflections and Security Measures
Altamash, a six-year-old resident of Dhurwa, shared his experience of the day: "I woke up early in the morning and got ready for the namaz. After prayers, I visited the grave of my grandmother who passed away around a month ago. Throughout the day, I have been enjoying delicacies including Sewaiyya and Dahi Vada."
To ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the celebrations, the district administration deployed magistrates along with police forces at key locations across the city. These included important mosques and Idgahs such as Ekra Masjid, Tharpakna Masjid, Jama Masjid (Badgai), Harmu road Idgah, Doranda Idgah, Rangsaaj Masjid, Karbala Masjid, Bilal Masjid, Chandini Masjid, Chhata Masjid, and Lalpur Plaza Masjid.

The Eid celebrations in Ranchi served as a vibrant culmination of the Ramzan season, blending religious observance with cultural traditions.
