The first half of the day was dedicated to a series of thoughtful and engaging sessions organized across various critical themes. Participants immersed themselves in deep conversations about the roots of tradition and the very origins of artistic expression in the Art and Handicrafts session. Simultaneously, the Tribal Healing Practices segment provided a platform for reflecting on the profound journey and significance of traditional healing in India.
Another pivotal discussion, titled Akhra, focused on interpreting the deep ecological wisdom inherent in tribal cultures and their intrinsic interconnectedness with nature. Furthermore, the Tribal Cuisine session highlighted the critical importance of promoting and preserving indigenous culinary traditions, recognizing them as a vital part of cultural heritage.
A Musical Milestone: Rhythms of The Earth
The undisputed highlight of the day was a significant musical announcement. Rhythms of The Earth, acclaimed as India's first multi-tribal, musician-based band born from the Samvad initiative, unveiled their second album. This ambitious project features 44 musicians and was created in a unique collaboration with Da Shugs, a celebrated group of musicians from the high-altitude region of Ladakh. This fusion marks a historic moment in the celebration of India's diverse tribal musical heritage.
