Minister Satish Jarkiholi Inaugurates 893rd Basava Jayanti Celebrations in Belagavi

The Belagavi district administration, in collaboration with the zilla panchayat, Kannada & culture department, and Belagavi City Corporation, jointly organized the 893rd Basava Jayanti celebrations at the Basava Mantapa in Mahantesh Nagar on Monday. The event was inaugurated by Minister Satish Jarkiholi, who highlighted the enduring relevance of Basavanna's teachings.

Basavanna Declared Cultural Leader of the State

During the inauguration, Minister Satish Jarkiholi announced that Basavanna has been officially declared the cultural leader of the state. He emphasized that Basavanna's principles remain highly relevant in contemporary society and should be widely propagated and followed. According to Jarkiholi, these principles serve as a model not only for Karnataka but for the entire world, promoting values of equality, social justice, and humanism.

Ideological Awareness and Humanist Thoughts

In a separate ceremony at Shahapur Basaveshwar Circle Park, Minister Jarkiholi stressed that Basava Jayanti celebrations gain true meaning only when they foster ideological awareness. He called for the humanist thoughts of Buddha, Basava, and Ambedkar to reach every stratum of society. Jarkiholi asserted that a positive societal change is achievable if Basavanna's ideals are integrated into daily life, not just during challenging times but at every stage of routine existence.
