Bombay Times ushered in a new era of mindful socialising this week with the launch of its BT Life.Styled Club. The inaugural event, aptly named Mahjong & Mocha, successfully brought together a mix of seasoned players and enthusiastic novices for an afternoon of strategy, caffeine, and vibrant conversation.
A Strategic and Social Debut
The event marked the debut of the brand-new BT Life.Styled Club, an initiative designed to foster connections through thoughtfully curated experiences. Held at the venue partner All Saints in Khar, the atmosphere was buzzing as guests immersed themselves in the classic tile-based game. Free-flowing mocha kept energy levels high while players, with full gusto, learned the intricacies of Mahjong, many quickly discovering its addictive appeal.
First-timer Pooja Jambotkar, who attended with four friends, expressed her delight. "I always wanted to know how this game is played, and I finally managed to grasp it here," she shared. The event was facilitated by the Lets Mahjong team, whose experts guided the participants through the rounds.
Digital Detox and Growing Appeal
Dr. Suhani Mendonsa from the Lets Mahjong team highlighted the event's value as a digital detox. "What's wonderful is that you meet new people and make new friends while playing Mahjong. We were away from our gadgets and engrossed in the game. I'm really happy Bombay Times organised an event like this," she said.
Sheetal Patel and Kanika Vasudeva of Lets Mahjong noted the shifting perception of the game. "Teaching Mahjong today was an absolute joy, and the mocha was delicious. We feel privileged to be associated with Bombay Times," they said. "Over the years, we've seen a growing interest in Mahjong. What was once dismissed as a game for 'old people' is now gaining widespread appeal."
What is the BT Life.Styled Club?
BT Life.Styled Club is Bombay Times' curated community for those who seek to style life itself, not just chase a lifestyle. Kicking off with Mahjong & Mocha, the club promises a series of exclusive, thoughtfully designed experiences. The future roster will revolve around key pillars like:
- Entertainment and Fashion
- Food, Travel, and Wellness
- Thematic masterclasses and jamming sessions
- Curated chef's tables and exclusive previews
Each event is crafted to create a space where Mumbai's most dynamic audience can connect, discover new passions, and find a sense of belonging.
