After her death, he commissioned the Taj Mahal mausoleum in her memory, which inspired the diamond's name. Centuries later, this historic piece found its way to Elizabeth Taylor as a gift from her fifth husband, Richard Burton, during her 40th birthday celebration in Budapest in 1972.
