Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, who is 50 years old, has once again proven why she is a fitness icon in the Indian film industry. She recently took to her social media to share a unique and challenging workout, inspiring her millions of followers to pick up their weights and join her.
The Core-Strengthening Dumbbell Move
In the video clip, Shetty attempted a complex exercise where she had to lift a dumbbell from behind her back using just one hand, while maintaining a squat and gripping her other hand behind her back. The actress demonstrated remarkable perseverance when she failed on her first attempt. She did not give up and successfully completed the move on her second try, flexing her muscles in victory.
Alongside the video, she wrote a motivating caption for her fans. "Looks easy… until you actually try it! Trust your core (and the dumbbell behind you). Now it’s your turn to give this a go and show me your version," she said. Her followers were quick to respond, flooding the comment section with hearts and inspirational messages.

This is not a one-off event. The 'Sukhee' actress regularly shares a variety of fitness ideas, workout glimpses, and motivational quotes with her audience. Earlier in September, she posted a video of herself doing functional training, which involved jumps on a fitness stool.
She explained the benefits of that particular routine in detail. She stated that it boosts heart health and endurance, burns more calories through short choreographies, engages the mind by improving focus and coordination, and tones the legs and hips. She described it as a fun, effective, and convenient workout that can be done anywhere, even at home.
Legal Matters with Raj Kundra
Meanwhile, on the legal front, Shilpa Shetty and her husband, businessman Raj Kundra, are involved in a court case. They have filed a petition seeking the dismissal of a Rs 60-crore fraud case that was filed against them by the Mumbai police's economic offenses wing.
As per PTI reports, the couple has also requested the court to prevent the police from filing a chargesheet or taking any coercive action while their pleas are being heard by the judiciary.
