Cook in Lucknow Arrested After Viral Video Shows Alleged Spitting on Roti
In a shocking incident that has sparked widespread outrage, a cook working at a biryani shop in Lucknow's Para area was arrested after a video allegedly showing him spitting on roti while preparing it went viral on social media. Police traced the footage to a Muradabadi biryani shop located near the Budheshwar Mahadev Temple, opposite the Dudh Mandi in the Para area of Lucknow. According to the FIR copy, the man seen in the video was identified as Anas, a worker at the shop and a resident of Kothi Bhanmau in Barabanki district.
SHO Para, Suresh Singh, confirmed that a case was registered against the accused under section 271 and 271 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Anas was arrested on Wednesday in connection with the incident. The officer added that action was also taken against him under provisions related to breach of peace, considering the seriousness of the matter and the public alarm it caused.
