Mangomania Festival in Delhi Blends Mango with Global Creativity

The king of fruits takes center stage in a culinary celebration as 'Mangomania' unfolds in Delhi, offering a fresh perspective on mangoes through global influences and creative preparations. The month-long festival, hosted at Mido Social House in Kailash Colony, showcases the versatility of mangoes across a curated menu that includes savory plates, desserts, and beverages, blending nostalgia with unexpected twists.

A Global Take on Mangoes

Moving beyond traditional Indian preparations, the menu pairs fresh Alphonso mangoes with vibrant ingredients such as tajin, chamoy, habanero, coconut, avocado, and fresh herbs. This combination creates dishes that balance sweetness with heat, acidity, and depth, offering a contemporary twist on a beloved summer fruit.

Kanishk Tuteja, co-founder of the restaurant, highlighted the inspiration behind the festival. 'Mangoes evoke a sense of nostalgia and joy that is deeply rooted in the Indian summer experience. With Mangomania, we wanted to celebrate the fruit in a way that feels fresh, contemporary, and exciting. The menu draws inspiration from flavors across the world while allowing the mango to remain the hero of every dish and drink,' Tuteja said in a statement.

Savory Delights

The culinary journey begins with the 'Mango & Tajin Bowl,' featuring chilled Alphonso mango with lime, chili salt, micro mint, and a chamoy drizzle. Following that, the 'Chili Mango Tacos' layer mango habanero salsa, pickled red cabbage, and lime crema in soft corn tortillas, with a choice of crispy fried chicken or tofu, creating a lively burst of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors.

For a more substantial bite, the 'Mango & Prawn Flatbread' delivers pure satisfaction, layering chili-lime prawns, raw green mango slaw, avocado crema, and pickled red onions over a wood-fired flatbread.

Sweet Endings

No mango festival would be complete without indulgent desserts. The menu features a comforting 'Mango Sticky Rice,' combining pandan-scented coconut sticky rice, fresh mango slices, and toasted sesame. Additionally, the 'Mango Chia Pudding' layers coconut-soaked chia, mango compote, and tajin-spiced mango cubes.

The 'Mango Basil Sundae' brings the experience to a close with house-churned mango basil ice cream, churro crumble, salted caramel, and chamoy, balancing nostalgia with a contemporary twist.

Mangomania will run through June 30, offering a unique opportunity for food enthusiasts to explore the diverse possibilities of mangoes in a global culinary context.
