Residents and tourists in Abu Dhabi are in for a pleasant travel surprise as the city prepares for the UAE National Day. In a generous move, the authorities have declared that both public parking and the Darb road toll system will be completely free of charge for a period of three days.
Three Days of Free Travel in the Capital
The festive relief begins on Sunday, November 30. From this date, all parking zones across Abu Dhabi will not require any payment. This means drivers can park their vehicles without worrying about feeding the meter or using parking apps for three consecutive days.
Simultaneously, the electronic Darb toll system will also be suspended. Motorists can drive through the toll gates without incurring any charges, ensuring seamless movement across the emirate during the holiday period.
A Gift for the Nation's Celebrations
This initiative is a direct gesture to mark the UAE National Day, which is celebrated annually on December 2. This day commemorates the historic union of the seven emirates and the founding of the country back in 1971.
By removing parking and toll fees, the government aims to make it easier for everyone to participate in the various events and festivities planned across the capital. It encourages people to visit landmarks, attend parades, and enjoy cultural shows, fostering a spirit of national unity and joy.
Drivers should note that the normal payment schedules for both parking and Darb tolls will resume on Wednesday, December 3. It is advisable to plan your travel accordingly after this date.
