Andhra Pradesh Tourism's Influencer Campaign Drives 1,000+ Bookings

The Andhra Pradesh Tourism Authority has launched a groundbreaking and budget-friendly influencer-led marketing initiative in collaboration with Volunteer Yatra, a volunteer tourism organization dedicated to strengthening rural India. This innovative campaign has successfully repositioned Andhra Pradesh as a diverse, experiential, and community-focused tourism destination on the national stage.

Phase 1: Showcasing the Vizag Circuit

In the initial phase, 11 credible content creators from across India—including Delhi, Rajasthan, Telangana, Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh—were hosted for a week-long curated tourism experience across Visakhapatnam, Araku Valley, and Lambasingi. Each creator boasts a strong following of 3 to 6 lakh, ensuring extensive pan-India visibility and engagement.

The campaign produced 80 to 100 high-quality content assets, including cinematic travel films, drone videos, reels, music-based edits, and professional photography. This content has organically reached over 4 million viewers, sparking significant interest from new feeder markets and increasing footfall to lesser-known destinations such as Araku Valley, Borra Caves, Lambasingi, and Visakhapatnam. During their visit, creators interacted with local influencers, tribal communities, rural hosts, and the Visakhapatnam District Collector, adding authenticity to their narratives.

Phase 2: Highlighting Konaseema's Cultural Richness

Building on the success of Phase 1, the Tourism Authority partnered with Volunteer Yatra to showcase the cultural richness of Konaseema during the Sankranti festival. Influencers from Ayodhya, Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Odisha, Hyderabad, and several other cities experienced authentic Bhogi celebrations, local traditions, and Prabala Teertham over five immersive days.

This phase highlighted the best of East Godavari, West Godavari, and Konaseema—including Atreyapuram, Jagganathota, Sakhinetipalle, Rajahmundry, and Antarvedi—and generated 30 reels with over 5 million reach. The response from viewers nationwide has been overwhelmingly positive, further boosting the state's tourism appeal.

Unprecedented Economic Impact

In a remarkable achievement, the combined campaign has generated over 1,000 direct tourism booking enquiries in just one month. All enquiries have been forwarded to registered tour operators across the state, demonstrating clear economic impact and commercial viability. This surge in interest underscores the campaign's effectiveness in driving tangible results for local businesses.

Financial Efficiency and Lasting Benefits

A key highlight of this initiative is its financial efficiency. With no heavy advertising expenditure, the campaign continues to generate organic reach across various digital platforms. The state now possesses a lasting repository of content for future tourism campaigns, digital promotions, trade fairs, and destination launches.

The initiative directly supports rural economies by benefiting homestays, tribal communities, local guides, and activity operators. Influencers were warmly welcomed across the state—from tribal villages in Araku to cultural hosts in Konaseema. Their content consistently highlighted the warmth, authenticity, and pride shown by Andhra Pradesh's communities in sharing their heritage and traditions.

Expanding Tourism Narratives Nationwide

By bringing influencers from geographically and culturally diverse regions of India, the Tourism Authority has expanded Andhra Pradesh's tourism narrative beyond regional audiences and tapped into new markets nationwide. This strategic move has broadened the state's appeal and attracted visitors from previously untapped areas.

In total, 110 videos were produced—80 from the Vizag Circuit and 30 from the Konaseema Circuit—with a combined reach of over 9 million from the 45 videos released so far. The campaign has covered more than 11 states across India, significantly enhancing Andhra Pradesh's visibility as a premier tourism destination.
