CzechTourism Expands in North India to Boost Travel

CzechTourism Intensifies North India Engagement to Capitalize on Rising Indian Travel Demand

CzechTourism has significantly bolstered its outreach efforts in North India, responding to a consistent increase in Indian travellers over recent years. The tourism board is strategically expanding beyond major metropolitan areas to actively engage with travel trade partners in Tier II cities, reflecting a broader initiative to tap into emerging markets where interest in international travel is on the rise.

Trade Workshop in Chandigarh Highlights Destination Diversification

As part of this expanded strategy, CzechTourism organized a series of engagements across key North Indian locations, with a notable trade workshop held in Chandigarh. This session attracted over 30 travel agents and focused on enhancing destination knowledge, encouraging the creation of itineraries that extend beyond popular hubs like Prague to explore Czechia's diverse regions.

Guneet Chaudhary, who attended the workshop, emphasized the growing potential, stating, "As outbound travel from North India continues to grow, there is clear potential to strengthen engagement across segments such as film tourism, MICE, and destination weddings. Czechia’s combination of heritage, accessibility, and production-friendly policies makes it an increasingly attractive choice for the Indian market."

Evolving Travel Preferences Drive Czechia's Positioning

Barbara Andelová highlighted the shift in travel planning, noting, "Our engagement in North India reflects a clear shift in how travellers are planning their European holidays today. There is increasing demand for experience-led travel, particularly around gastronomy, beer culture, and wine regions, which align well with Czechia’s strengths. Through our growing presence across key North Indian markets, we aim to position Czechia as a well-rounded, multi-region destination for Indian travellers."

This approach underscores CzechTourism's commitment to promoting Czechia not just as a single-city destination but as a comprehensive European experience catering to varied Indian interests.

Extended Outreach to Amritsar and Jalandhar

In addition to the Chandigarh workshop, CzechTourism conducted sales visits to Amritsar and Jalandhar, further extending its regional engagement. These efforts are designed to build stronger connections with local travel trade partners and raise awareness about Czechia's offerings in these growing markets.

The overall initiative marks a strategic move by CzechTourism to leverage the steady growth in Indian travellers, positioning Czechia as a top choice for diverse and immersive European travel experiences from North India.
