Kerala Tourism's Traveling Photo Exhibition 'Lenscape Kerala' Inaugurated in Vadodara
The Kerala State Tourism Department has launched a captivating three-day traveling photo exhibition titled 'Lenscape Kerala' at the Alembic District in Vadodara. This visually stunning showcase, which began on Tuesday, presents a unique perspective on Kerala's rich cultural and natural heritage through the lenses of some of India's most talented photographers.
Official Inauguration and Distinguished Guests
The exhibition was formally inaugurated by Vadodara District Collector and District Magistrate Anil Dhameliya, who participated in an insightful walkthrough guided by the eminent art curator and critic Uma Nair. The presence of these distinguished personalities added significant prestige to the event, highlighting the cultural exchange between Kerala and Gujarat.
During his address, Collector Dhameliya emphasized the strong travel culture among Gujaratis, noting that they consistently rank among the top travelers to various states across India. "While many of us have visited Kerala before, this exhibition offers a completely different viewpoint," he remarked. "It captures the essence of places, people, rural and tribal life, wildlife, and cultural traditions in ways that conventional tourism often misses."

The exhibition features an impressive collection of 100 panoramic curated images captured by 10 leading travel and media photographers from across the country. These talented artists include:

All photographs were taken during the photographers' immersive sojourn in Kerala during November and December of the previous year, capturing the state's beauty during the pleasant winter months.
Special Features and Curatorial Excellence
The inaugural function included the screening of a special four-minute behind-the-scenes video titled 'Frame Within A Frame,' offering visitors a glimpse into the creative process behind the exhibition. The show benefits from the expert curation of Uma Nair, whose artistic vision has shaped the presentation, along with the photographic expertise of conservation photographer Balan Madhavan serving as the director of photography.
Traveling Exhibition Itinerary
Following its successful launch in Vadodara, the 'Lenscape Kerala' exhibition is scheduled to travel to Ahmedabad as its next destination before moving onward to Mumbai from Gujarat. This traveling format allows a wider audience across multiple cities to experience Kerala's visual splendor through these carefully selected photographic works.
