According to Jamal Kilito, the country manager of the Moroccan national tourism office, Morocco welcomed nearly 54,000 Indian visitors in 2025, with projections suggesting this number will rise to 70,000 this year. He stated, "Once the number touches one lakh, a direct flight will be viable." This threshold underscores the cautious approach being taken, as the tourism office aims to ensure sustainable growth before committing to direct air links.
Currently, travel between India and Morocco relies heavily on connecting flights via West Asian or European hubs. Kilito emphasized the existing tourism ties, noting, "At least 10 Indian weddings are held in Morocco every year and 15 MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions) groups visit us.
