Nagaland Opens Tourist Info Centers for Hornbill Festival in Dimapur
Nagaland Sets Up Tourist Info Centers for Hornbill Festival

Ahead of the much-anticipated Hornbill Festival, the Nagaland tourism department has taken significant steps to enhance visitor experience by establishing new tourist information centers in strategic locations.

Strategic Locations for Tourist Assistance

The Nagaland tourism department, working together with district administrations of Dimapur and Chümoukedima, has established two crucial facilities for incoming visitors. These centers have been strategically positioned at the senior tourist officer's office in Dimapur and at Dimapur airport, ensuring travelers can access information and necessary documentation immediately upon arrival.

Streamlined ILP Process for Tourists

The newly opened centers will serve a dual purpose as information hubs and ILP facilitation counters. Most importantly, they will facilitate and issue offline tourist inner line permits (ILPs) for all visitors entering Nagaland. This move is expected to significantly streamline the entry process for domestic tourists who require the mandatory permit to visit the state.

The timing of this initiative is particularly significant as it comes just before the Hornbill Festival, Nagaland's most famous cultural extravaganza that attracts thousands of domestic and international visitors each year. The offline ILP facility will be especially beneficial for tourists who may not have completed the permit process online before their journey.

Enhanced Tourist Experience

These information centers represent Nagaland's commitment to improving tourism infrastructure and making the state more accessible to visitors. By providing both information and permit services in convenient locations, the tourism department aims to create a more welcoming and organized experience for those coming to explore Nagaland's rich cultural heritage and natural beauty.

The collaboration between the state tourism department and local district administrations demonstrates a coordinated approach to tourism development, ensuring that visitors receive consistent and reliable services from their point of entry into the state.
