Tourism Bodies Unite to Elevate Buddhist Pilgrimage Circuit in Northeast India
In a significant development for regional tourism, the North East India Tourism Confederation (NEITC) and the Association of Buddhist Tour Operators (ABTO) have formalized a partnership through a memorandum of understanding. This strategic alliance aims to foster enhanced collaboration within the travel and tourism sector, with a specific focus on amplifying Buddhist pilgrimage tourism across the northeastern states of India.
Strengthening Tourism Linkages with a Buddhist Focus
According to official reports, the primary objective of this MoU is to strengthen tourism linkages, placing particular emphasis on the promotion and development of Buddhist pilgrimage tourism throughout the northeast region. The agreement was ceremoniously signed by NEITC President Tsering Wange and Tourism Adviser Dr. Kaulesh Kumar in Anini, located within the Dibang Valley district of Arunachal Pradesh, on Wednesday.

The MoU seeks to establish a clear and structured framework of cooperation, meticulously delineating the roles, responsibilities, and collaborative mechanisms between the two organizations.
