Odisha Unveils 'Go Adventure' Portal and Strategic Partnerships to Elevate Adventure Tourism
In a significant move to transform Odisha into a leading adventure tourism destination in eastern India, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida officially launched the innovative 'Go Adventure' portal on Tuesday. The launch event also featured the signing of crucial Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two premier national organizations: the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) and the Aero Club of India (ACI).
Streamlining Procedures and Enhancing Safety Standards
The newly introduced 'Go Adventure' portal is designed to revolutionize the administrative framework for adventure tourism projects across the state. It will significantly simplify and expedite the processes of registration, verification, and licensing, making it easier for entrepreneurs and operators to establish and run their ventures. Deputy CM Parida emphasized that safety remains the foundational pillar of Odisha's ambitious expansion in the adventure tourism sector. She highlighted that through strategic international collaborations and a renewed focus on spiritual and experience-based travel offerings, the government aims to modernize the industry and attract substantial new investments, particularly from young and dynamic entrepreneurs.
Government's Vision for Tourism-Led Development
Chief Secretary Anu Garg underscored the state government's commitment to prioritizing tourism development as a key driver of economic growth. She articulated the vision of achieving 'Utkarsh Odisha' by 2036 and contributing to the national goal of 'Viksit Bharat' by 2047. Garg called upon all government departments to proactively explore innovative ways to support tourism growth alongside their primary functions, stressing the critical importance of a unified and collective effort across the administration. She expressed optimism that the burgeoning adventure tourism sector would not only invigorate local economies but also generate extensive employment opportunities on a large scale, benefiting communities throughout Odisha.
Strategic Partnerships for Comprehensive Adventure Offerings
The MoU with the Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) is poised to significantly enhance safety protocols and training programs for land-based adventure activities. This partnership will focus on rigorous safety audits and specialized training for pursuits such as trekking, rock climbing, and mountaineering, ensuring that participants can enjoy these experiences with the highest standards of security and professionalism.
Concurrently, the collaboration with the Aero Club of India (ACI) will establish a robust regulatory framework for aerial adventure sports. This agreement aims to standardize and oversee activities like paragliding and paramotoring, aligning them with national safety guidelines to promote responsible and thrilling aerial adventures in the state.
Together, these initiatives mark a comprehensive strategy by the Odisha government to diversify its tourism portfolio, attract adventure enthusiasts from across the country and beyond, and solidify its reputation as a premier destination for safe and exhilarating outdoor experiences in eastern India.
