Ranchi's Waterfalls Packed with Christmas Celebrations

Ranchi's popular waterfalls transformed into vibrant hubs of Christmas celebration as a large number of people gathered to mark the birth of Jesus Christ amidst nature. Major scenic spots, including Hundru, Johna, and Dassam Falls, reported exceptionally heavy footfall on the festive day, with families and friend groups choosing these picturesque locations for their holiday gatherings.

Hundru Falls Emerges as Festive Favourite

Hundru Falls stood out as one of the most crowded destinations, with visitors beginning to arrive from the early morning hours. The area was filled with families, young groups, and tourists from nearby towns, all spending hours enjoying the pleasant winter weather and the stunning natural backdrop. The cascading waters provided a perfect setting for a day out, with the buzz of activities like photography, shared meals, and relaxation filling the air.

"Christmas is about spending quality time together, and coming to Hundru has become a cherished tradition for our family," shared Rakesh Kumar, who was visiting with his loved ones. Echoing the sentiment, another visitor, Anjali Verma, said, "It feels incredibly refreshing to celebrate Christmas surrounded by nature. The lively crowd only adds to the overall festive mood."

Local Vendors See Brisk Business

The surge in visitors translated into a significant economic boost for local vendors operating near the waterfalls. Temporary stalls selling tea, snacks, and various refreshments remained busy from morning till evening as crowds continued to stream in.

"Festive days like Christmas are very important for our livelihood. The footfall is high, and consequently, sales are very good," explained Sunil Mahto, a snack vendor at Hundru Falls. A nearby tea seller shared similar views, noting that visitors tend to stay longer during holidays, which naturally increases the demand for food and drinks.

Similar Scenes at Johna and Dassam Falls

The festive spirit was not confined to Hundru alone. Johna and Dassam Falls also witnessed similar scenes of steady crowds and celebratory activities. The approach roads to these waterfalls saw increased vehicular movement throughout the day. To manage the festive rush and ensure the safety of all visitors, police personnel were strategically deployed to regulate traffic and maintain order at these popular tourist spots.

The Christmas celebrations at Ranchi's natural wonders highlighted a growing trend of combining festive joy with outdoor excursions, creating a unique and memorable experience for residents and tourists alike.
