UP to Draft Tourism Vision 2047, Aims for Global Leadership
UP Tourism Vision 2047 Workshop on November 27

The Uttar Pradesh tourism department is gearing up for a significant milestone in the state's tourism development journey. On November 27, the department will host the 'Viksit Uttar Pradesh @ 2047 – Workshop on Tourism' at Yojana Bhawan, marking a crucial step toward shaping the future of tourism in the region.

Charting the Course for Sustainable Tourism

This day-long workshop represents a pivotal moment for Uttar Pradesh's tourism sector, as it initiates the drafting process of the 'Tourism Vision Document 2047'. The comprehensive strategy aims to guide the state toward sustainable and inclusive expansion of its tourism industry over the coming decades.

The timing of this initiative couldn't be more appropriate, given the state's impressive tourism performance. Uttar Pradesh has recorded an astonishing 109.65 crore visits during the January-March 2025 quarter, with foreign tourist arrivals contributing significantly to these numbers.

Transforming Growth into Strategic Development

The primary objective of the workshop is to convert this remarkable growth into a well-defined, investment-focused roadmap that engages local communities. By doing so, Uttar Pradesh aims to position itself as a global tourism leader, leveraging its rich cultural heritage and natural assets.

The event will bring together a diverse group of specialists spanning multiple domains, including heritage conservation, eco-tourism, wildlife, skill development, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), digital tourism, rural ventures, and tourism academia. This multidisciplinary approach ensures that all aspects of tourism development receive adequate attention.

Building a Comprehensive Tourism Framework

The workshop is expected to generate concrete recommendations for implementing the vision document effectively. Key outcomes will include strategic proposals to strengthen both Uttar Pradesh and India's overall tourism framework.

Participants will work on identifying specific project zones, potential investment opportunities, and ways to enhance public-private partnerships. Additionally, the event will establish a knowledge-sharing network focused on destination management, visitor services, and community participation in tourism development.

This collaborative effort represents a significant step toward creating a robust tourism ecosystem that benefits both visitors and local communities while preserving the state's cultural and natural heritage for future generations.
