Defence Minister Rajnath Singh delivered a strong message on terrorism at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Defence Ministers' Meeting in Bishkek, stressing that the world must adopt a consistent and unified approach to combat the menace. He warned against double standards and highlighted the dangers of state-sponsored cross-border terrorism.
Strong Message on Terrorism
Referring to the Pahalgam attack, Singh said it had shaken humanity and reiterated that India's response through Operation Sindoor showed that terrorists cannot evade justice. He emphasized that there is no place for double standards when dealing with terrorism and called on all nations to act decisively.
Evolving Global Security Landscape
Singh also spoke about the evolving global security landscape, marked by rising fragmentation and tensions. He noted that traditional and non-traditional security challenges are increasingly interconnected, requiring enhanced cooperation among member nations.
SCO Cooperation
Emphasising the importance of the SCO, Singh called for enhanced cooperation among member nations to effectively tackle security challenges and maintain regional stability. He urged member states to work together to counter terrorism, extremism, and separatism.
