In a significant recognition of their diligent efforts, several booth-level officers (BLOs) from the districts of Agra and Mathura were publicly honoured on Tuesday. The felicitation ceremony was held to acknowledge their successful completion of digitising enumeration forms within the strict deadline set for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, which is scheduled to conclude on Thursday.
Agra District Leads with High Completion Rate
In Agra, the District Magistrate, Mallappa Bangari, personally felicitated nine exemplary BLOs during a ceremony organised at the collectorate. These officers represented nine different assembly constituencies: Etmadpur, Agra Cantt, Agra South, Agra North, Agra Rural, Fatehpur Sikri, Khairagarh, Fatehabad, and Bah. For their outstanding performance, they were presented with certificates, shawls, bouquets, briefcases, and special mementoes.
DM Bangari commended the BLOs for their disciplined and timely approach, revealing that Agra has recorded one of the highest completion rates for digitisation in the entire state. He praised their work during the critical phases of door-to-door enumeration, physical form collection, and the subsequent app-based digitisation, calling it an example of "exemplary commitment and time-bound execution."
To further motivate the workforce, Bangari announced an ambitious plan. "We are planning to honour the first 20 BLOs from every assembly seat as a recognition of their work," he stated. This initiative aims to inspire other officers and foster a spirit of healthy competition among them to achieve even greater efficiency.
Mathura District Celebrates 171 Performing Officers
Meanwhile, in the neighbouring district of Mathura, a similar spirit of appreciation was witnessed. District Magistrate Chandra Prakash Singh honoured a total of 171 diligent BLOs during a review meeting conducted at the Mahavan tehsil auditorium.
Singh congratulated the officers for their commendable performance and urged them to extend their support to fellow BLOs. This collaborative effort is crucial to ensure the timely completion of the remaining work before the Thursday deadline.
Impressive Digitisation Progress Reported
The felicitations are backed by solid data showcasing the districts' progress. As of the latest reports, over 61% of the enumeration forms have been successfully digitised in Agra district. Mathura district has performed even more impressively, having completed the digitisation of over 71% of its forms.
This Special Intensive Revision is a crucial exercise to ensure clean and updated electoral rolls. The efficient work of the BLOs, who are the grassroots-level officials directly interacting with voters, is fundamental to the integrity of the democratic process. Their efforts in physically verifying details and then accurately digitising the data help eliminate errors and duplications from the voter lists.
The recognition events in both districts serve not only as a reward for hard work but also as a strategic move to boost morale and encourage the remaining teams to accelerate their pace as the final deadline approaches.
