Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday urged electors to vote in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the civic body elections scheduled to be held across the state on Sunday. He emphasised that people should ensure a triple-engine government by voting for the BJP in the municipal elections.
CM's Appeal for Voter Participation
Ahead of his scheduled visit to West Bengal and Assam, Saini, in a brief message from New Delhi, stated, "May 10 is not merely an election day, but an important opportunity to determine Haryana's bright future." He urged voters to participate enthusiastically in what he described as a festival of democracy. The Chief Minister stressed that every single vote is not just to elect a candidate but for the secure future of children, the dignity of mothers and sisters, the golden dreams of youth, and the prosperity of Haryana.
Support for BJP Candidates
Saini specifically urged people to vote in favour of BJP's mayoral candidates: Shyam Lal Bansal in Panchkula, Akshita Saini in Ambala, and Rajeev Jain in Sonipat, along with all party candidates across Haryana. He argued that this would strengthen the triple-engine government, accelerate Haryana's development, and strengthen the hands of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "Let us all together build a Haryana that becomes a new example of development, trust and prosperity. Every single vote of yours will lay a strong foundation for Haryana's prosperous, safe and developed future. Press the lotus button to strengthen the resolve of development, stability, national interest and public service," he added.
Congress Hopeful of Victory
On the same day, Leader of the Opposition in the Haryana assembly and former Chief Minister Bhupinder Hooda, along with Haryana Congress chief Rao Narender Singh, appealed to the electorate to vote for party candidates in the civic body elections. Hooda expressed hope that electors would punish the BJP for its misleading agenda and divisive policies. Rao Narender Singh declared, "These elections will be a milestone for uprooting the BJP from Haryana."
