Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Tuesday hailed women power as the state Assembly unanimously passed a government resolution for 33% reservation for women in the House. The special session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly witnessed the Chief Minister taking on the opposition Congress, accusing it of stabbing women's capabilities and aspirations in the back.
Chief Minister's Strong Words
Speaking on the floor of the House, Dr. Yadav said the Nari Shakti Vandan Act is a symbol of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's steel-like resolve to empower women. He warned that those who steal women's rights will not be forgiven even by Lord Mahakal. The Chief Minister also highlighted the government's commitment to women's empowerment through various schemes and policies.
Congress Accused of Hypocrisy
Dr. Yadav launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, alleging that it has always betrayed women. He said the Congress party's history is full of instances where it ignored women's issues and only paid lip service to their empowerment. The Chief Minister also called upon all parties to support the resolution for the betterment of women in the state.
The resolution was passed by voice vote with support from both ruling and opposition benches, marking a historic moment for women's representation in Madhya Pradesh. The state government has also announced a series of measures to ensure effective implementation of the reservation for women in local bodies and other institutions.
